Grand National Pick and Prediction
ODDS | AI PICKS |
MONEYLINE | Nassalam |
The ground conditions this weekend will make it challenging to make a Grand National prediction. Nassalam is one that we like, with his dominant victory in the Welsh National showing that he has the proven stamina on testing ground to play a very big role. However, it could be a race on the horse racing schedule that is perfectly suited for a runner on a light weight.
Limerick Lace is the preferred choice for Mark Walsh this weekend, with the mare looking to back up her very impressive showing at the Cheltenham Festival when landing the G1 Mares’ Chase on testing ground. Our third choice for the Grand National this weekend is Panda Boy, who has won once from nine starts over fences, but has dropped down to a very attracting mark based on his staying effort when second to Meetingofthewaters at Leopardstown in late December.
Grand National Odds
HORSE | ODDS |
---|---|
Corach Rambler | +500 |
I Am Maximus | +800 |
Meetingofthewaters | +900 |
Vanillier | +900 |
Mr Incredible | +1200 |
Kitty’s Light | +1400 |
Panda Boy | +1400 |
Mahler Mission | +1600 |
Corach Rambler will be a popular Grand National prediction this weekend, but there is little value in the Lucinda Russell runner at +500. I Am Maximus is one of a number for Willie Mullins at +800. Meetingofthewaters has already been well backed into +900, with Vaniliier being the only other runner at a single-digit price.
Grand National Leading Contenders
Corach Rambler:
Corach Rambler will be looking to become one of few runners to successfully win the National in back-to-back years. The ten-year-old was an impressive winner of the race last year, and has followed up that success in recent weeks by claiming a very fine third in the G1 Cheltenham Gold Cup. Higher in the weights this time around, and his exploits at the Festival may have left a mark.
I Am Maximus:
It has been ten years since training maestro Willie Mullins has won the National, but I Am Maximus boast the right kind of profile. Paul Townend is one of the Grand National jockeys never to have won the race, but he arrives to Aintree in excellent form. The eight-year-old won the Irish National last year, and has been very competitive in Grade One company throughout the season in Ireland.
Meetingofthewaters:
Meetingofthewaters is another runner from the Willie Mullins hard this week. This seven-year-old ran a storming race in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Festival, finishing a strong-traveling third behind the impressive Chianti Classico. That race has produced some excellent National contenders in recent years, and this runner has won twice from six starts over the bigger obstacles.
Outsider- Coko Beach:
Coko Beach could be one of the most interesting selections at a bigger price this weekend, for trainer Gordon Elliott. He will be making his third start in the National, with his best showing coming when eighth in 2022.
However, he has been in excellent form already this year, beating Limerick Lace over three miles at Navan, before scoring in a Cross Country at Punchestown in February. He goes very well at Aintree, carrying top weight over the National fences to finish second in the Becher Chase in December. Coko Beach could be among the wise horse racing AI picks on Saturday.
