The emergence of the Bengals

A new team was brought into the American Football League (AFL) in 1967. This expansion team began with passion and drive. They were aiming high from the start. What was their first big move? Making Paul Brown head coach.

Brown had already become a legend in football by leading the Cleveland Browns to win eight NFL championships. The Bengals, with Brown leading them, went on a journey that had many highs and lows but also included moments that will forever be remembered as some of the greatest in football history.

Joining the NFL

The year 1970 was significant for the Bengals since it marked three years after they were created. This year saw the AFL-NFL merger happen and so brought them into the National Football League (NFL). With this change came more difficult competition, bigger obstacles to overcome, and more well-known NFL teams to play against.

Playoffs and Super Bowl Hopes

Over time there have been times when Cincinnati has shown brilliance. They’ve made it to NFL playoffs 18 different times which is quite impressive considering how tough it can be just getting there alone. When it came time for playoffs wins were scarce only having ten out sixteen tries which isn’t great considering how close three times came only falling short every single one those occasions including this most recent attempt following year after season1991-92 when reached again after missing thirty years since previous appearance during year1988 yet still despite all past accomplishments did not succeed but that does not stop them continue striving until finally someday win happens .
