The Cleveland Browns: A Summary

Established in 1944, the Cleveland Browns have a colorful history that spans over seventy years. Along the way there have been successes and failures but most importantly fierce rivalries which have stood the test of time.

Where It All Began

Often known as “the father of modern football” Paul Brown was responsible for much of initial success behind this franchise. By using innovative coaching strategies he turned them into an unbeatable team within All-America Football Conference (AAFC). This superb skill set led directly to four AAFC titles, including one perfect season in 1948.

Moving to the NFL

When they joined National Football League (NFL) in 1950, being part of it seemed like natural continuation for them. They kept up their winning ways by making it back to championship game year after year from ‘50-’55 with three wins during those times! On top of that were two more victories in NFL championships at ’64 and ’65 respectively.
